An evening hunt pictorial.....
« on: October 19, 2007, 10:48:00 PM »
A little scoutin today turned up a place where I thought I could take a doe.....First thing I see when I climb in is a napper!

After bein there a little while, from the opposite direction of what I figured comes the nontypical..

SPIKE that is!

Then the bandit wakes up

Mr Spike comes closer...

Back after I load up.......  :wavey:
Stay sharp, Kenny.

That looks a lot like the first deer I ever took, a spike with a kicker.

Good thread and great pics! Lookin forward to the rest.

After while,I hear a deer chomping acorns behind me....

Sorry bout pic quality on the last few, gettin darkish in the timber...

He also ends up 8 ysd almost downwind,he's a little more worried about shutter noise than Mr Spike,so he turns and moves off away from me,soon followed by a littermate with slightly wider rack, but shorter tines.

Hope ya'll enjoyed the show as much as I did.
Need to leave the camera in the truck tho, when the biggun shows up,wanna have my bow in hand, not the camera   :knothead:

I've started keeping my camera handy now. I had a small 6 pt. come out the other morning but I was afraid to dig in my pack to get my camera out. Since I got my camera I always try to take lots of pics each time I'm out.

Ain`t that how it goes...? head out hoping to shoot a doe, and end up with bucks all around.

When deer get too close my Zwickey`s sometimes go on auto-pilot. Arrow needs to be in the quiver to help control this. Just a warning.  :D
