New Chinook!!
« on: March 21, 2016, 10:06:00 AM »
Well I got this Chinook that Dan said was "pretty enough to take to any dance" a few weeks ago and havent had the time to get pics out.  When researching the Chinook, I knew it was a popular style with a ton of accolades, but I was surprised at the lack of photos.  I think everyone is too busy shooting them and no time to photograph them!  So here is my addition to the photo file!  48@28, Tiger Myrtle Veneer, Cocobolo riser.  This bow was so quick I had to drop from a 225grain tip to 125 grains for my 3555 arrows.  So I got a dozen 5575s off the classifieds, cut to 30" instead of 29, and added 275 grain points and they fly great!  Enough talk, here are some pics!
The pics didn't transfer very well and appear darker than on my phone.  This bow is gorgeous in the sunlight, a real looker.  Coming off the longbow isn't easy, as I love my bloodbrother!  But it has been fun going back and forth, not sure what I will use to hopefully get my first gobbler this spring!  Thanks for looking!!  Don

That is one Sweet Chinook.  I love the figuring in the riser and limbs.  If it shoots as good as mine, you will love it.  Best of luck with it.

looks great!

Have always wanted to try one of those.

From what I hear they are the quietest recurve around.

That's the second best looking chinook I've ever seen, after my baby.  I've owned a bunch and still have 2 and haven't found a bow that compares for quick and quiet shooting.  Is that one 58" or 60"?

She is a 58".  Now that I have shot it I would prob go with a 60" if I had to do it again.  But yea- very quick and quiet!  Thanks everybody.

Dan makes some awesome looking sticks!

I still would like to own one someday.

Thanks for sharing!

Wow a 400 spine! Nice piece of work. Did it feel like the limbs might be beginning to load, the reason you would opt for 60" if you did it again?

Possum Head, yes it does feel like it loads right toward end. I am pulling 28.5 to 29" draw and feel that the 60 inch would smooth right out! I also have a 64" blacktail and that thing is like butter!  Definitely a difference in draw feel.
