Do you guys refinish the latchs? Mine are wore to the bare metal. Just spray paint?

I would've if it needed it. Mine were in decent shape. Not sure they were original because they were in much better shape than the riser and the leather pad looked brand new.

Here's mine. I used Kleen Strip spray to clean it up and rustoleum Chalked Charcoal.

Steve, That Kleen strip and Rustoleum is really easy isn't it? Beats the heck out of all that sand/bead blasting mess down my back.

Yes. My original plan was to get it bead blasted but your post got me thinking of a DIY approach. Was pleased at how well it worked. Nooks and crannies and belligerent spots were easily brought to bare metal with a toothbrush. Messy stuff but not difficult to work with. Suspect I will find a few more coats of the paint would have been worth it but easy enough to touch up or even redo down the road.

I went to the Tennessee Classic in Clarksville, TN with the original owner of my takedown and a couple of other buddies from the Lost Tribe Archery group here in Memphis.
I shot my newly refinished takedown and shot a 335 on their 40 target course...and had only one clean miss.
We had a great weekend and look forward to being there again next year.
