First deer with a bow , and it`s a buck

Earlier this year,a good friend`s son informed me he wanted to start bowhunting. I had started his dad bowhunting over 20 years ago and he had killed a deer his first time out. I loaned him an old Saxon longbow I had that was 68" long.He`s 6'3" tall with arms like a gorilla so it would be perfect. I taught him to shoot,took him about a week before he could out shoot me. Well he brought it all together tonight and made me proud. I put him in a stand in the corner of a field where deer enter the field. I dont have any kids and he`s about the closest thing to a son that I have,and I am proud of he`s acomplishment. I dont know who was the most excited,him or me. Smiling is overrated in dead animal pics anyway lots of emotions at play; he looks like a killer to me! LOL!!

Congrats!!  Good on ya both!  That's a fine buck there and I'm sure it's the first of many in that young man's future. You can tell him it's "Trad" to smile on the next one!    :thumbsup:
