Buff in OZ
« on: April 05, 2016, 07:52:00 AM »
Let's talk...who's going and when....I may never get to Africa...but buiz can take me to NZ...then I could stay and hunt OZ for Buff.

Not any time soon mind you...we are talking a year out.....

Anyone going anytime sooner or later...lets here what you are planing and what's going on now.  I would LOVE for to do this as it would be a hunt of a lifetime for me.

I have a buddy who killed 4 buffs in one hunt over there with his recurve. The pics he showed me of the hunting and the very primitive camp they stayed in looked awesome.

I bet we hear from Ben and Clint and a few of the other Aussies before long!

Good luck in your quest terry!

Man, it would be the experience of a lifetime for sure.

Don't know of anyone who has made the trip since Melville shut down.

Here's a good read to get the wheels turning...

I will be there for buff bowhunting in few weeks, hoping to get close enough for the recurve bow.
After playing with several set up I finally ended up with a 940 gr arrow tipped with a Tuffhead BH.

Zbone, it really can't be done on public land. We have very little public land. It is all private property (cattle stations) or Aboriginal land.

Variety and a new experience should likely be the next dream. However, my number one prominent desirable adventure remains in returning to the New Zealand North Island to pursue Red Stags.

Am steadily working a plan, yet not to come to fruition in the immediate future.

My sister is moving to Melbourne this spring and I have conveniently planned a trip tp visit in April 2017 which happens to coincide with the red stag roar season.   No buff on this trip but for an elk hunting addict sure am looking forward to chasing red stag.
