A jake for the table
« on: April 07, 2016, 05:18:00 PM »
Didn't see much this morning, so I went out to a honey hole this afternoon and saw 6 jakes and 3 hens, one of which was bearded. I thought about shooting the bearded hen, but the jakes were a bit more cooperative. After a short stalk, this one didn't leave quickly enough, and he will be dinner. The JD Berry Heritage does it again. A shot in the neck at about 15 yards put him right down. Now I can hunt for a big gobbler. Ain't it great?
