Group for Africa
« on: April 21, 2016, 12:44:00 PM »
Guys, I am in the early stages of getting up a group of no more than four guys and myself to go to Africa. Sofala Safaris in Africa has offered a deal to me for a group of Traditional and Primitive archers to come hunt for 7 nights and 6 days for 2400.00 each Total. This covers all meals, guiding, field care and meals. With this price you can kill a Warthog and Impala Ram. Other trophies can be taken for the normal trophy fees. They are very reasonable on these fees as well. This in an introductory price to offer the average guy a chance to come experience Africa without breaking the bank. If a guy wanted to he could go there and just shoot the one warthog and Impala or more of them for 300 and 350 trophy fees a Gemsbok is 1300 and a Kudu is 1700 as an example.

This outfitter has had traditional hunters in the past and would like to start catering to people like us. This is a great opportunity to experience Africa on a budget as well as take larger trophies if you want.

If you would like to be in the group get with me and we will get dates set and more info to you as far as travel and other information. Tony Kinton a good friend of mine from Mississippi has hunted this place several times and taken game with one of my selfbows in the past.

If you would like to get in on this opportunity to build a Traditional and Primitive destination in Africa with me give me a call or email me anytime.

I bought a ticket in December, for a July departure.  Cincinnati to Johannesburg with a 3 hour layover in Atlanta, it was about $2,100.

When about are you looking at going? where in Africa are they.
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

Looking at August of 17. They are in South Africa.
I have a group of friends going in May and their tickets were 1500.00 each out of Atlanta. Look at their website  www.Sofalasafaris.com

$1500 round trip for the plane tickets? Man that is cheap. All 3 times I went over there the tickets were at least $2500. I'd jump on this if I could. I really love it over there. Guys if you can swing the money then do it. Every hardcore Bowhunter deserves a hunt over there.

Its a cheap starter hunt, that can get as expensive as you want by taking other animals. But this is set up as a way for a working man to come and experience Africa and take a warthog and impala and enjoy the experience. I plan on taking a few of the bigger animals as well.

A trip like this should be on every archer's bucket list.

Yes, the long plane ride can be a bad experience whether you've flown before or not...but it's worth it!
