Hey guys, I just put out another video and blog post comparing stumping heads. You ever see how a judo handles a head on collision with a rock in slow motion? Check it out!

Clay,
Most of my stump shooting is in the woods. I have found that Judos, Hex Heads, and Hammer Heads will go under leaves/debris very easily at a flat angle (shooting at something on the ground). I have lost so many arrows because of that. I prefer a larger diameter head, like the VPA Thumper. I occasionally loose an arrow with the Thumper, but a lot less often that the others.
A good video and synopsis.

Most of my small game hunting was done in deep snow in Alaska. I would save up all my mismatched arrows and not worry about the head because I knew that if the arrow missed the bunny, it was history. Same with hunting spruce hens in the timber. If I could catch them on the ground a recovered arrow was a good possibility. Now hunting ptarmigan in the tundra, just about any arrow/point would snake under that soft moss and dissapear forever!

I stump shoot in an area with a lot of tall and thick grass. The Judo Kondor heads work best for me.
Great video, Clay! Thanks for putting it together!

As always, a great video!
I'm a fan of the Ace heads. I love the ability to match them to my other points.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for posting. Great stuff as always. Can't wait for your next full length video.
You have to post the out takes from that bicycle shooting if you wiped out!! I would have eaten pavement.

Thank you. I have experienced more arrow breakage when using wider ( than the shaft) points, and oblique hits on hard surfaces. The outside edge grabs and torques the shaft and there it goes.
They are all good and all have their strong points.

As usual, great video. Thanks.
I have bent the tips on judos a number of times and I've ruined the spring arms as well. But they are the tops in tall grass or deep leaves.
When I go stump shooting I take three types of heads: judos, hammers, and HTM or Bunny-Buster rubber blunts. I pick the head based on what I'm shooting at. I use the judo when there is the most chance of a head burying; the hammers on longer shots since they seem to fly the best, and the Bunny Busters on anything I suspect is going to be pretty hard.

I smuck a split shot into my judos to get them to 155 grains. A hex head stops faster on bare dirt, but a judo will hang up and not bury in snaggly weeds as much.
