Back side of 2 blades...
« on: October 21, 2007, 04:14:00 PM »
A fried of mine told me about the way he sharpens his 2 blades a while ago and I was curious to see if anyone else does this.
He buys 2 blade zwickey's or magnus heads and sharpens the back side of the blade as well as the front.
Anyone else heard of, or done this before?
I can see the advantages f this if you weren't to get a pass-through, just wondering what other benefits there might be.

Thanks,
Keith

Keith,
I used to sharpen the back of my three blade suffers...  I was always afraid of a non passthrew shot and thought maybe it would help....  did it?? I do not know, but it  gave me a little peace of mind....  I no longer sharpen my heads and now shoot two bladed ones..  maybe someday I will do it again..

Used to sharpen the backside, but no longer do it.

I'm with Tom.  That seems like an invitation to an accident to me.  Two bladed broadheads seem to cut just fine with only the leading edge sharpened.

If I wanted more sharp bits, I'd be more inclined to shoot three or four bladed broadheads rather than sharpening backsides of things.

Aren't Silver Flames sharpened on the backside?
