First time to Tennessee Classic
« on: May 01, 2016, 08:41:00 PM »
I would like to give a big two thumbs up to the members of Twin Oaks Bowhunters for putting on an exceptional event.   The Twin Oaks staff was more than friendly and willing to answer any questions, this made us feel very welcome.  If you haven't  attended the Tennessee Classic let me tell you the number of quality Rinehart targets is simply amazing.  If I was to give an estimate I would say that between the practice course and the two tournament courses they have over 100 quality targets. $$$. I would say the only thing that was better than the event was the people that we encountered at the event.  It was very nice to meet and shake the hand of the legendary Pappy.  My family will definitely be returning next year.

A couple pics:

A great target setup:

Turkey Blind Shot:

Yet another great setup:

At the end of the course they had a iron fox at around 12yds for a 11 point bonus.  I was anticipating this shot all day so I took an old 2016 aluminum with me expecting a sacrifice and guess what???  I made the shot!!!  WOW

A big thank you to Chris and Deb Hartwig of NewWood Longbows for taking the time to talk with my family this morning.  Hunter will remember the experience of purchasing his new Vanguard for a long time.

That looks like an awesome event!

I'm going to have to start making plans to road trip to a few of these awesome shoots going on around the country!

Darn photobucket.  Can't see half the pics.  Looks like fun though.  Wish we had more like that on this side of the country!

Hey Dammion,
I shot right in front of you.  It was a pleasure to open up Tradgang this morning and see a familiar face!  It was a pleasure meeting and talking with you.  It was my first Tennessee classic as well and I will echo your thoughts.  A fantastic course and a fantastic group of folks!

Do you know when they are posting the scores?  I had to leave before the winners were announced.

Jake, I hope they post the scores soon.  I didn't turn in my score card as I had a few bad targets that resulted in a 311 but would love to know how everyone else shot.  I hope to continue to get better every shoot and maybe after a full year of shooting I can compete.

Finally got a few pics uploaded as well.

I sure wish I had the presence of mind to take more pictures, but the course held my attention.  Such a great time and a great group of people.

It was my first time there as well. We drove two cars down from Pa. and I had the most relaxing weekend in a long time. The courses were great, the atmosphere and people were fantastic, and the Pot Luck Dinner on Saturday night was crazy, crazy good.

We definitely plan on coming back.
