Blacktail has arrived
«
on:
May 02, 2016, 09:54:00 AM »
I got my new Elite VL in the mail a few days ago.
The specs. on it are 66" long and 50#@30".
The riser is Cocobolo and Myrtle, as are the limbs.
The grip cramps my hand just a little, but I am sure I will get used to it. It sure does draw smoooth.
It is too rainy to be outside shooting it, so I thought I would post some pictures.

And the best part was the short wait. I got it just four months after I ordered it.

That is nice, but know what you mean about the grip. I had to sell because of the tight feel and wish I had been more detailed with the type grip I wanted.

Mine felt that way at first, but after talking with other Blacktail shooters I changed the way I grip it just a little and that was all it took. Very subtle difference. I just try to have the handle stay to the right of the "lifeline" of my hand. (SORRY - I just saw it was a left handed bow. I am right handed so left of lifeline for you). I try to avoid getting too much palm into the grip. I hold it just enough to keep from dropping it- mostly with just the top one or two fingers at the most. Hope that helps, they are wonderful bows, I think.
