Avian Turkey Decoys

I have two Avian Turkey Decoys that I have used for a few years.  This year the screw came out of the back on both decoys (hen and semi strut jake). This allows the air to escape out the top hole where the screw was at, it also lets the pvc tube move around and the decoy will not sit straight on the stand.  Any suggestions?  I have tried aligning the pvc tube an installing another screw, without success.  I also sent a note to [email protected] and have not received any reply.

I think you should call the company they do have a pretty good warranty.

I sent an email to the company - actually have sent a couple notes to them and they have not replied.  Thought the customer service would be better than that.  Might have to make a phone call

Have and still own avian decoys replaced many valves and a few decoys thanks to zink customer service.I still have deflation issues and their customer service has vaporized . They are a very nice decoy but they fail alot !

they are awesome decoys, but junk imo, no customer service and they will leak, or stake tube break inside decoy.  cost too much to have issues after a few yrs

What is a equally effective decoy but, of better quality?  I have been interested in getting a better decoy set up for sometime now.

Would it be possible to fill the defective decoys with expanding foam??  It would make them less portable but would make a working decoy.  ????

I like mine but they don't have a screw in the top.  They must be an older version.

A couple of years ago I tried to make some 3D targets out of some old inflatable turkey decoys.  I used 3 cans of Great stuff large gap filler.  For some reason the foam never set up or expanded.  I have an avian x that worked great this year,  hopefully I don't run into the same problems as you guys.

Don't think filling them with foam would work, but a good idea though.  The PVC pipe would have to be held solid in one place when filling them.  That pipe had to stand vertical to slip over the mounting stake.  That is the problem when the screw came out.  The pipe moves around and the decoy will not stand straight, or hold air.  Going to give it another try, since I have not heard back from the company.  I like the decoy and it works well, but considering the customer service, I would check out other brands now.

Try a dakota decoy, and or Dave Smith both are
    a little pricey but but are beards and tails
    over the avian and they will last!

I will check out the two brands.  Avian decoys are not cheap either.  Did some repair work yesterday on them.  Will check them today and see if they hold air now.

Dave Smith Decoys for me.  Very realistic and light weight.  I carry a jake and hen in one bag over my shoulder and set up when needed.
