If anyone finds out before me if there was a late frost up there this morning, please post on this thread.

I'm fixing to break out my zoom binos and check from my driveway...but I don't know if I'll be able to see for sure.

If there was a frost this AM.....there will be no reason to have the camp on top this year....there wont be any acorn up there, and everyone will have to drive low.....so we'll pic a lower elevation camp.

Terry:  I don't know about up on top, but it supposedly froze the entire N. GA apple crop and most of the peaches as far south as Macon.  Where do you suggest we locate the TBG camp in Sept.?  John Wilson

TG if'n a few fella's from virginia were to get an invite what stuff would we need to bring? do you sleep in tents, campers or under the stars? i just took a peek at my schedule and the last 2 weeks of september are wide open and this hunt sounds sweet.

Rob, most sleep in tents.  A couple of campers shells on trucks.  Then there is Terry's "Taj- ma- hut"!  I guess sleep in whatever you have.  We had some nasty weather and some high wind one night, so keep that in mind.
If you can make it, the more the merrier!
This photo is Terry and his Taj-ma-hut (Tent-ma-hal?), at lunchtime.  It was almost "flashlight dark" shortly after this photo.  Dang clouds.

Yep, anyone is invited....

Yeah.....I heard we all got a heavy frost...but the magic question now is......where was the 'bloom line' at the time of said frost?

If the top haddn't bloomed, there will be more acorns up there than low.....we got plenty of time to find out, just curious.

Keith......that 'almost 40,000 acres' is INSIDE the Cohutta managment area...for a total of 95,000 acres.

I hunt mostly the west side......and the north.

Nah, that hunt was in south GA.

Keep in touch, and we'll get together sometime.

I can't make this hunt, but I would definitely like to hook up with some of you guys in Cohutta in mid-Aug if anyone is interested.  Just let me know.

Again....I think the bear hunt will be the 3rd weekend in Sept........that's usually the 2nd week of Bow Season for GA.

I'll get this all figured out on 'where' camp will be.  We'll have the hunt regardless of where camp is, and anyone interested is welcome to come.

If we camp at Horse Shoe Bend......we can flat out cover a lot of ground...some in the Wilderness, and some on the management area.

Gotta get Neil and Dan scouting early.....they'll figure out about the top sure enough based on what they saw last year.......I'm pretty sure they are gonna be there.

I'll be going back for sure!
Last year, several guys including Tim F. and Joel didn't make it because they were helping at a kids shoot.  A nobel reason to miss it.  But I hope those guys holding that shoot change their date this year.

Keith, where did you get your map from?
