Okay guys, I have been going back and forth about offering something up, but have decided to do it. The hog hunt that I offered up last year never came to fruition unfortunately, so I was apprehensive. I believe life got in the way of the recipients.
Louisiana has several ruts depending what part of the state you are in, so here is what I came up with:
Friday-Sunday for 2 hunters
They would have the choice of:
Oct/Nov hunt in north central La (Nov rut) on private land with meals and hopefully lodging provided. At the very least, tent camping will be available.
Or, a Dec/Jan hunt on one of the many public lands of La with a late Dec/early Jan rut. These primarily consist of river bottoms and swamps. In this case, camping accommodations and meals would be provided. *This is not a "guided" hunt.*
Stands will be provided for either hunt as well as boat/atv or whatever else is needed for the specific area.
**If one of the hunters is under 15, they can use any weapon legal for that area at that time. This can all be worked out in the planning stages.
Most of these areas have hogs as well.
Feel free to ask questions or comments and tell me what you think.
I know there are legalities for "guiding" on public land and even though I will not be receiving any compensation, I want to make sure we stay within the expectations of the law.
