Recurve Limb Bolts
« on: June 08, 2016, 12:10:00 PM »
Hey Gang,

Pardon my ignorance, but I was wondering if the threads are "standard" amongst most recurve limb bolts? My got me a Sammick Sage for Christmas this past year and yes, I'm just not getting around the setting it up.  (1.5 year old boy and she's due any day with our daughter).

Reason I ask is that I think the antler bolts are very neat and just thinking about accessories  :) .

Hope everyone is doing well!

3 rivers has faux antler bolts with brass adapters that work great for the sage.   My buddy cut his bolt heads into a square shape and epoxied them into some antler nubs. That worked well too.

Msturm,

That is exactly what I was thinking!  How can I "fix up" my current thumb know circular bolts.

Thanks for the confirmation that I'm not loosing my mind.

When measuring limb bolts, do you measure the entire length of the bolt or just the length of the threads?

I know this is not what you were asking but I figured if you were looking to mod a Sage, I would share mine. Over the years I have changed it quite a bit.

1. Rasp and sand paper to take down blocky appearance give some smooth curves. 2. sand off finish and dye the entire thing using vinegaroon. 3. remove brass plunger adapter and cover hole with a "lucky coin" my four year old nephew gave me.

4. antler nub limb bolts. 5. snake skin limbs.
People have a hard time telling its a sage except it says sage on the limb. lol.
