Help- arrow set-up
« on: June 12, 2016, 10:03:00 PM »
Due to an illness, i had to drop down in bow weight, got some new limbs for my bear t/d, 40#, i draw 27", i have some new carbon express heritage 150 shafts that i bought a year ago for my 50# limbs, do you think i can make these work with 125gr tips, shooting under 40#, i dont want to load up the front, and slow the arrow down if i dont have to. Maybe i would be better with 600 spined arrows?

My guess would be 600 spine arrows would work better for you but there are way more knowledgeable people than me around here.

Maybe try some Gold Tip 15/35. Big Jim has blems. 3 Rivers has CE Heritage on sale. They have the 75's.

I have to agree with all of the folks above. I would have to go weaker than CE 150s for any of my bows. I have some CE75s that are shooting really well for me out of my low-40# bows. Left full length and drawn 28". I think you will have to put a boat anchor on those 150s.

I am shooting some 1916 aluminum, 29", 125 grain tips and they seem to fly great, they have new wraps and fletchings, so the guy i got them from found an old 1916 autumn orange shaft 29.5", shot that bareshaft and flew great! I put it on my home made spine tester and it came out at 572, so if i buy 600 spine shafts, theses will be 600@28", so do i need 500 spine for the shaft to be 29" or longer?
