RER Bow Question
« on: June 13, 2016, 02:58:00 PM »
A friend on mine showed me a bow he picked up used that he said was a RER.  It was a one piece longbow 56".  While to design looked similar to an RER there was no medallion and in very large letters on the side of the riser was written RER and the bow specs.  Anyone ever saw this on an RER.

Pics would help,  but it sounds like one of Kevin's early models.  I think the medallions came later.

I agree with Whip. A friend of mine has an early RER Arroyo that is marked like that. It's a lefty too and I keep trying to talk him out of it with no luck.

I believe the company was called Rivers Edge Recurves at one time...Kevin and Sue shortened it to RER when they started to market longbows...makes sense that is an early longbow before they decided to add the medallion

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

Yes, my wife has one of Kevin and Sue's early 56" Vortex, minus the medallion, and I have one of their 2 piece takedown Vortex longbow, also minus the medallion. This one was actually Kevin's backup bow at the time and was lucky that he sold it to me.

For those who have owned the old RER 1 pc longbows, how do they handle?

I didn't own a 56" Vortex but I shot one. I ended up with a 54" Arroyo for hunting out of my turkey blind. I was shooting some of Kevin's bows and the Vortex was a dream to shoot. I'm still kicking myself for not buying that Vortex!   :banghead:
