DAS Kinetic?
« on: June 14, 2016, 01:28:00 PM »
I am looking at a bow and it has DAS Kinetic on the riser. Are these original David DAS bows or were they also made after 3Rivers bought them out?

Thanks

Yes, the DAS Kinetic was the predecessor to the 3Rivers Dalaa.  Do you know if it is a Gen 1 or Gen 2 riser that you are looking at?

The Gen 1 risers have cut-outs in the sight window, the Gen 2s don't.

They are some of the finest hunting bows built IMHO.

I am going to look again but I think it is Gen 2 then. The person said they bought it from 3Rivers a long time ago. Did they market DAS Kinetic before they bought them out?

Thanks

If they bought it from 3R, then it's a Dalaa.  Still basically the same bow, not nearly as valuable.  The original DAS bows were made of a higher grade of aluminum, and had a better finish.

There were about 100 Gen 1s, and 300 Gen2s built by David before he started selling them through 3R.

Thanks. I will keep my eyes out for the originals if they ever come up. I have seen a few Masters come up now and then.

Thanks

Its really a shame what the internet and OTHER sites did to David.  Sad...really really sad....he wore a white hat.  Can't say that for the viscous kanits that trashed him to no end. Scum bags to tell you the truth. What they posted on 'pirates' was discussing AND obscene.  What a bunch of losers!!!  Oh, and they never kill anything anyway, that's why they really have nothing else to do but trash others for their own hunting and shooting incompetency.

Thank God for TradGang....where stuff like that doesn't happen.

I am surprised to hear that. I never heard anything bad about David. I just know of him from the Maters of the Barebow video and his bows.

I agree Terry. David was treated very unfairly. It's a shame he walked away from it all.  I for one, truly appreciate his efforts.

Me too I really enjoyed  and got alot out of David's part in Masters of the Bow . I'm thankful that this site don't put up with crap like that and I wish David would come join us.

There is nothing to hear bad about David unless you want to go looking for idiots and liars and cheats and obscene personalities that want to discredit him for no reason whatsoever

Wow, didn't realize there were only 100 Gen 1's made.  No wonder they always go for so much.

If it's a fair price on the Dalaa get it.  They are good risers/bows.  I've had two.  Sold one and then regretted it and got another then sold that one to pay for a broken car windshield.  Hopefully I can save up and get a bow again next year(sucky summer archery wise!) and you can bet I will look at the Dalaa again.  I'd love to try an original DAS bow someday.  They must be awesome with how well people talk about them.

I have two Dalaa risers that I shoot with Centaur limbs to make a 66 inch centaur. I really like this combination for accuracy.

Yep, and only 6 or 8 of those were lefties. I owned one of them for quite a while along with 3 or 4 lefty Gen2s.

Agree with you Terry. Thanks for keeping this sight on course.

The dalaa has the same geometry as the DAS, but no cutout in the lower section for the slide in weight, just a less expensive metal for the riser. Another trad talk site has a thread about the DAS tribute being built by 3rivers and soon to be released, a 19" version of the DAS bow and named so as a tribute to David Sosa who will be getting serial #001.

Good luck on your search for a gen1.

My wife has one of David's risers from his first production run. After we got hers I took one shot with it and ordered one for myself. We have changed limbs now and again but we still shoot those risers. Best there is IMO. With Morrison limbs they are hard to beat.

Can somebody fill me in on the story? (no nasty dirt or rumors, maybe just a little history on the builder and what happened) I've seen the DAS bows from 3R and they look pretty sweet.
