Moved to NC
« on: July 02, 2016, 08:58:00 PM »
My wife and I closed on our home in Goose Creek, SC this past Thursday and we've moved into a home we are buying and will be closing on July 29th.  Our home has a Seagrove NC address although the house is actually about 10 miles from Seagrove.  When you live in the country small towns have large boundaries for mailing address purposes.

I lived in Thomasville for 3 years about a lifetime ago.  NC is very nice.  You're out in the country for sure!  You are just down the road from Bud B here on TG though.

Bill,

The peace and quiet I can handle.  What I really love about the area is our four  grandchildren 3.5 miles down the road, the friendly people and the next to nothing traffic compared to Goose Creek!  The hunting around here is very good, too!

Same here, Bill. I am in Asheboro near SWRHS, right at the trailhead in Birkhead Wilderness. Let's go stumping in the fall. Same for you, BRITTMAN.

Congrats on the move. My daughter lives in Mt Pleasant. Pretty much every time we are down that way and pass the Goose Creek exits I think I ought to get in touch with Bill and plan a visit.

Doc,

Why Not is actually bigger on Google Maps than it is in real life.  It consists of all of one church and a few homes.  We are actually located another 8 miles East of Why Not!

Bill,
Congratulations on the move to NC. We moved from Columbia to Burnsville (Mtns of Western NC) almost 3 years ago. I love it here...especially the temps. We've had rabbits, deer and bear in our front yard regularly.
....and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age. Matt 28:20

If you have a chance, NC trad shooters, the CTA has a monthly shoot in Conover. This month's is July 9th. First time visitors shoot and eat for free.

 http://thecta.org

It'll be about a 2 hour drive for you, Bill.

Google showed your town to be West of Why Not...

Living in MT, they called such hamlets "poke n plumb towns"  i.e., you poke your head out any window and your plumb outa town"    :bigsmyl:

Doc,

Seagrove the town is West of Why Not.  But we live in the country and have a Seagrove address, albeit we're 10 miles East of Seagrove.

Bud,

Thanks for the info.  I'll check out the site and wait for a shoot when the temps are a bit cooler and we are fully settled into our new home.
