Loop fraying

The top loop on my Flemish string is fraying on the string nock. The nock seems to be fairly smooth and the string hasn't gotten fuzzy or appeared to need wax. Have had no issues with the bottom loop or nock. Any of y'all have an idea what the problem may be?

NOPE but for $14-$20 a custom string... why chance any failure...I had one...very illuminating!

Lost a bow that is no longer in production, too.

No more...any sign of wear...I switch out!

There's probably some roughness in the the nock, and/or you got some grit in the string.  Take some fine steel wool and work the entire nock wherever the string rests in the grooves.  If there's grit in the string can't really do much about it.  Just watch it and change the string if it continues to wear badly.

Run a pantie hose around the nock, if it has a burr you will find it.

You could have nicked it, no telling. Bottom line get a new string before you shoot anymore.

Sometimes a tiny nick is hard to find, but that's all it takes to wear out a string.

Time for a new string! Like said above, sometimes you can't hardly see or feel a burr, but with hundreds of shots, it will still wear on a string.

String frays at the nick loops....hum...Over 40 years I can't remember having one that didn't fray.

Those strings don't last forever .
You could just be seeing that it's time for a new one .

Order 2 so you have a spare! dont fret about it just replace it.

If it's fraying in the loop you need to find out why.  Otherwise the next string will do the same.  It's often a slightly rough spot that can be cleaned up with some 220 grit and a 1/4" dowel.

Rubbing a cotton ball around the nock will find anything that ain't smote just like with panty hose.

MAYBE 0000 STEEL WOOL TO FIX NOCKS, BUT FRAYING STRING.........TOP MAYBE NOT PROBLEM BUT, BOTTOM BREAKING CAN GIVE YOU STITCHES AROUND EYE AREA..........NO PROBLEM SUPER GLUE OR A FEW STITCHES YO WILL LIVE.
