Shrewhaven bound!
« on: October 24, 2007, 06:53:00 AM »
I can't believe it's finely time to head north to deer camp again. I'll be pulling out early tomorrow morning for the 9 hour drive to Michigans U P.

Gregg Coffey, my bowyer will be making his first trip to Shrewhaven this year and the regulars and I are looking forward to having him there. Gregg is one of the hardest working guys I know and Lord knows he needs some R & R. I'll be sure and take lots of pictures to post when we get back.

Just for fun, I made a new bow to tryout at Shrewhaven this year. Its a 54" Classic Carbon, with cabon on the back, black glass on the belly, and actionboo and walnut core.  51#@28".  I sure hope I get to hunt with it!

Poor Ron might not get to hunt with it, since he shoots wronghanded.  :bigsmyl:

Here's wishing you a nice fat doe on the meat pole early so you can sleep in, lounge in camp, stoke the fire and tell tall tales. Good Hunting!

Things are pretty slow this year as far as deer movement, but I'm sure you guys will do well as usual. Not to mention the fun and fellowship. Give me a wave as you pass by this year.    :wavey:

Gregg - did Roger pass on the "NEW GUY" duty list for ShrewHaven? It goes something like this-- All new guys in camp will become the OFFICAL #1-water boy(bring your waders)#2-firewood boy(bring work gloves) #3- treestand grunt(deliver all stands & hang them) #4-cooks helper(bring apron, dish cloths. peeling knife) and #5- O.T.C.(offical outhouse technition, keeps up supply of TP and material and monitors hole depth, bring shovel.
Roger will retain the porch light & locksmith duties(by orders from Papa Shrew) Sure hope you have time to hunt!!
Experience the Northwoods... It rejuvenates the soul.
