Sayin' Hi
« on: August 09, 2016, 10:50:00 PM »
Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Vern and I'm a recurve shooter in central Virginia. So far I've been collecting, repairing and refinishing some vintage bows, as well as shooting them. It is quite addictive I should say. I haven't shot a recurve since I was a kid and then got bit by the bug 3 years ago and now I'm almost 50. Boy have I been missing out.
Anyway I got tired of lurking and joined this wonderful site. Look forward to some good interactions and sharing of information.
Cheers

Welcome, Vern. You will find a wealth of knowledge and experience here as well as some of the most genuinely hospitable and generous people you are ever likely encounter.
7 “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;
8 or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you.
9 Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?
10 In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.
Job 12:7-10

Welcome Vern from The Valley-west of you a bit-and I also like to get older bows and refinish them. Somewhat older than you but still loving trad bows. Where do you live, there are a few Va. folks on here, maybe you can hook up with some other shooters.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.
