your nock set point ?

How did you arrive at your ideal nock set point?

How far up from even do you use?

Recommended was 3/8 to 5/8.
Started at 3/8 using masking tape and shot groups of 3 until I felt satisfied, then crimped on the nockset.
Bows are Bear 45# shooting 45-50 spine woodies. All three ended up around +1/2"

I start at 3/8" above and slowly go up as it gets better then when it starts getting worse I move it back down just a bit. My Grizzly ended up at 5/8" above but my Slick Stick is at 3/4" above where it shoots best. It still shoots a little nock high bare shaft but fletched arrows look great to me. I shoot 3 under and always adjust my nock height shooting a bare shaft until I can get them shooting the the best I can. I really can't see any nock high flight shooting fletched arrows after.

I usually set at 3/8, moving up or down until the performance is maximized.

I got there through bare shafting and making very small changes over several days.

For my current bow the nock point is 3/4" above square.

Mostly 5/8" maybe a little higher.  When I tuned my  bows a few years ago using bare shaft /fletched shaft grouping and paper tuning, it almost always ended up very close to 5/8".  Now,  I usually set a new bow up at that height and leave it there unless I see a reason to adjust, such as poor flight.

Even then it is often because I am putting too much pressure on the string with my ring finger or other form issue.

Not sure why...but 3/8ths on every bow I own...even selfbows....I nock under that.

Bare shaft for the most part, sometimes paper tune. When I started all my bows wanted 5/8ths, but the last year or so I'm at 3/8ths across the board. I assume it was a form issue.

Since I recently went to carbons I have found that 1/2" with carbons works best. I had been using 5/8" with woodies out of my bow for years.

I will often stat at 1/2" and see how that works.  My recurves usually end up very close to 5/16 or 3/8.

I paper tune, and let the tuning tell me where my nock point should be set! Tuning is the only real way to know for sure that your nock point is in the correct place!

Bare shaft planing tells me where it need to be. Shooting 3 under I start at 5/8" and adjust according to bare shaft impact compared to fletched shaft. 3/8 to 5/8 depending on bow, arrow diameter and if shooting off shelf or elevated rest. Split usually needs a slightly lower level for me.

Depending on form and bow/arrow variables, like tiller and arrow diameter, what works for one may not be right for another person.
