a good read

To give further credence to the "trad is a way of life" crowd, (I'm a charter member)one common trait we all share is the love of that "getaway oasis"...you know, the parcel that sits in the middle of hundreds of thousands of acres of national forest land...where the only way in is on foot, the water is spring fed, the trout in the creek are wild and your only neighbors are deer, elk, bear and mountain lions. Yes, I confess that I literally salivate when an episode of "The Last Alaskans" comes on. Some of you are blessed enough to own such a retreat, for others it exists only in our minds...but it's there nonetheless.  I was recently gifted a neat book entitled "Cabin Porn" full of pics and stories from all over the globe. These are not the abodes of Hollywood A-listers, but folks that re-purposed dilapidated barn wood into works of art through the labor of the owners.  Most are tiny with no amenities. And yes, this post can stand because it has a special section just for hunting blinds/fishing shacks! Enjoy.
