After the gym and coffee I went to finish setting up my new ladder stand. Had to put up a bow holder and several hooks to hold my quiver and pack. Walking in [15 min.] I crested bank and stopped to rest a bit and look around and there was a doe, a yearling and this years fawn looking at me. Didn't take long and they bailed out.....lol. Went to my stand a finished setting things up and got my safety harness all adjusted. I shot several arrows from the stand and I was spot on every time......I was happy. Walking out shot a few times and saw 2 more adult deer, it was a great morning out and about.

Oct. 1st, just have to fine tune my shooting and my gear to be prepared but not take to much stuff. LOL, half the fun is getting ready.

sounds like a great day to be in the woods.  Hopefully the dryer cooler weather had arrived like it has now here in Maine.  Gets the blood stirring.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

This is your year Ron!  I know most of last year was a bust with your knee.

I know you were thinking of giving that area a rest until later in the season but i wouldn't completely write it off.

Good Luck.
Relax,
