Possible bags
« on: August 22, 2016, 08:05:00 PM »
I just ordered one from G. Fred and his darling wife.  Anybody have prior experience with any ?  I find wearing any fanny pack or backpack with a back quiver is difficult.  I wanna use the back quiver more, hence the purchase.

I wear my possible bags when I'm shooting my blackpowder guns.  Cant comment on wearing one with a bow.

I really enjoyed my Asbells possible bag for a time. Only reason I stopped using it is the fact that I carry a pack capable of taking out a boned out deer now. Sometimes I do miss that haversack though.
This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

I have been using an Asbell haversack for several years. I like it a lot. It holds just about all I need to take to the stand. I also use a back quiver, and they work together just fine. It is a good piece of gear.

Lastvseason I started using a Swedish gas mask bag as a Haversack. Love it. It even works with a side quiver. Also forces you to take just what you need.

I've been thinking of getting one myself .

Don't have the Ashbel, but have one a hunting buddy made for me. Been using it about 5 years. I am usually caring a tree stand so back packs and fanny packs are in the way. You will love the possibles bag.

I have one and use it all the time as a haversack, both with my muzzleloader a and my bow.  Solid peice of gear that will provide years and years of service.

I have carried a leather possibles bag while stumping, with arrows in a bow quiver.  Very handy, easy to reach or slide out of the way.  Better than a waist pack for easy access.

I always carry my Asbell haversack when hunting.  It has enough room for everything you need during a day in the woods.  The compartment design helps keep everything organized.

I find it works best to sling the haversack strap across my non dominant shoulder so the sack is on my dominant side then sling the back quiver over the haversack strap and across my dominant shoulder.  This allows you to adjust your back quiver while moving through the brush while still having easy access to the haversack.

I think you'll really like it, I know I do.
Never quit doing good.

Back quivers and possible bags go great together, I always use one of my own making when hunting with a back quiver. I hunt with old timey smokepoles sometimes and used to do a lot of redevous and shoots so I'm used to using one.

Plus they look so darn good to    :bigsmyl:

I wear a Swedish surplus haversack for my day gear when hiking and hunting.  Complements a side quiver well.

(Add a lunch for the trip in and the heart/liver for the trip out).

I don't carry a "possibles bag" when muzzleloading.  I carry a shooting bag for the just the items to fire and clean the gun/rifle and a haversack for other stuff.  ;-)

Wow, great response.  Looks like I am not alone in trying this.  Looking forward to giving it some time in my hunting repertoire this fall.  With luck I should have it before season starts.

I have other pieces of Teresa's wool gear and cannot find a single bad thing to say about it, or her service.  I guess that's why I keep going back !   Its getting close now.  You can almost smell fall in the air !
