With any luck, I'll finish with my obligations in time to fling a few arrows this evening!     :archer2:

I spent a quite a bit of time last night attempting to post pictures. Alas, to no avail. My wife has posted a couple pics here for me in the past but, she couldn't remember how she did it. I'll continue to take pics of groups and such. Who knows, perhaps sometime in the near future, I'll accidentally stumble onto the secret of posting them.

I do know this though, the Black River bow is a SHOOTER! And SO easy on the eye...

It feels kind of like a really good revolver grip. A slight palm swell and the throat is small enough that I can touch my index finger and thumb while gripping the bow. My hand is just a shade under 5" wide across the palm but, my fingers are short. I'm guessing it's about a medium as for wrist height. It is a much more comfortable and natural feeling grip than my Super Necedah. Almost like it was molded in my relaxed hand.

Can't wait to get her in my hands! Pics are easy here. You just have to have a photobucket or imgur acct, and then copy and paste the img link.

I'll be trying again tonight. I got a few more pis from some shooting this evening. I do have a photo bucket set up and the pics are there but, when I copy and paste the link, it doesn't work. If push comes to shove, Manolito (Bronz here on TG) is only about 20 minutes away and tech savvy. I may attempt to enlist his assistance... Ah Hem... Hint, hint, Mano...    :help:

Manolito is a good guy for sure! You have to copy/paste the img link. It is the bottom one of the 4 choices you have.

Here's a comparison between the Black River and my Super Necedah.

After a couple of warm up shots with the trusty Super Necedah, I shot a couple of bare shafts and found that arrows were fairly weak. However, the fletched shafts seemed to fly fairly well at 10 yards so, straight to 20 we went. This was the very first 20 yard group using the Black River with the hybrid limbs.

The bow felt absolutely natural in my hand. It was very smooth with no discernible hand shock and not a hint of stacking at my 29" draw.

Here's a couple more pics of that first group.

Not the tightest group I've ever shot but, I am extremely happy with it considering this is my first time with the bow.

Did you get the pic thing figured out, or did you have to call in Manolito???

That bow looks awesome! I am so ready to give her a whirl.

Also, what arrows are you shooting? My DL is 29" also.

I forgot to mention, the first shots were taken yesterday, 8/24/16. I got started late due to other obligations and then my range time got cut short by the arrival of torrential rains and very high winds.

I didn't have to call Mano. I must have been using the wrong link. I did as you suggested and it worked first time. Thanks for that!

I'm using Easton, 2018 Legacys, 3 5" parabolic feathers, 30" from nock to back of point with a 4" foot of 2216 and 175 grains up front. They bare shaft perfect out of my Super Necedah at 50# but, I had to build the shelf out almost 3/16".

The Black River shot so well at 20 yards yesterday that I went right to 30 today. As my groups will attest, I very rarely shoot 30 yards on the range because I have a self imposed limit of 20 yards for my hunting shots. If conditions were perfect, I might reach out to 25.

The Super Necedah was feeling neglected so, I flung a few at twenty just to let it know I still cared.

It shot this nice group to assure me it was still up to the job despite it's age, which I've been told is somewhere between 43 and 45.

The weather cooperated this evening so, I was able to shoot close to 100 arrows with the Black River. This bow is an absolute joy to shoot. Although it's hard to tell from the photos, I stayed on the range until it was almost too dark to shoot. I finished this session with a final group at 20 yards. I was getting fairly tired by this time but, I think the group is still respectable.

Then, just when I thought my day couldn't get any better, God graced me with this beautiful, Kansas sunset to remind me, "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands." Psalm 19:1

Amen to that!
