Swamp Funnel- Where game crosses a little finger of swamp between the high ground.
Spruce Stand- In a thick spruce stand where the deer feel comfortable all day.
Scrape stand- Over a giant scrape that is there year after year.
Beaverdam Funnel- between a road and a beaver pond where the beavers have knocked down a ton of trees in a large area. This forces the deer into a narrow strip of timber. Just found this one late in the season last year and am really excited to hunt it more. Saw a buck there five minutes after I set up the stand.

My Friend got me into naming stands. Good Idea.
The Apple Stand Is in a small orchard.
The Honey Hole is near a small food plot.
The Fence Blind is a ground blind on his property line.
The Skull Stand is Where we have a deer skull hanging in a tree.
The Bench Stand is on a bench that the deer like to travel.
The Ridge Stand Looks over a main food plot that is 100 yards away.
The size of the horns don,t matter
as long as it has a good tale.

Uncle Barry is a hoot! there is an underlying theme to his stand names   :)

A year or two ago one member had a  stand called the Orphanage. I asked him what the explanation was and he said a lot of does have been killed from it....   :)

We named a stand once. We called it the "Sunday Morning" stand. It was closest to the house and thus, we knew we could hunt it on Sundays before church.

No not yet, lol. But it in a really thick area surrounded by a nasty swamp. When walking to the site it's very Erie . I started calling it Man Eater when my brother drew a tag. He was very nervous to say the least. He had never been bear hunting before , so I thought I would help him out.  :)  On the way in to the spot some crows flew off the bait and about give him a heart attack. He did get a nice bear that night. I bet he mad it back to the truck in record time that night. lol. He said all he kept thinking about was the name.

A couple more come to mind:

Maple tree - one of the highest, flimsiest, most frightening and dangerous stands I have ever been in.

No Sight - goes back to my handgun hunting days. I had a buck come in right under the stand, but when I tried to aim, I found that the rear sight had fallen off my pistol.

Not mine but my favorite stand name on the Zwickey packs forever...probably goes back to the 30's I'd guess.

"Down log blind at Misty River".

Sadly it's not found on the new packs.

I have probably 3-4 dozen different locations that hold true year to year. I may not get to some because of wind but the one ridge I can count on every fall I refer to as "The Bedroom" I never go in until pre rut and they always seem to be there at some point during the season. It's a 1.5 hour walk from my truck and I get in about 1 hour before daylight and the bucks always filter through off the grain fields coming to check for estrus doe. I guess if I had one day to hunt it would be that area.

The Bread Paper Stand was named by my grandpa.  He had his lunch in a bread bag one day while hunting from that stand.  At that time bread bags were made of paper, I guess.  A big buck snuck up behind him when he had his hand in the bottom of that bread paper sack reaching for a sandwich and he spooked the buck.
