Someone else mentioned him to me in conversation, his humor and posts, so I wrote to him... he said he lurks but isn't posting as much...doing ok, with just normal issues of an aging Nam vet, whatever that means...

He seemed to appreciate being thought of...

Tell him to get himself back on here!    :wavey:

I thought just letting him know he's missed might help.

Here's his email, write and tell him to "get himself back on here."  :)

I received a PM from him this past week in response to a question I asked, so I know he is on Tradgang at least occasionally. The message was brief, but cordial.

In reading Doc's response, I feel compelled to respond  further. I have no idea what Mudd is dealing with.

But, my absolute best friend in the world is dealing with Vietnam "stuff" and it ain't good. Very early dementia as well.
I feel like I am loosing my best friend, brother in the Lord and hunting partner.
Frankly it is right up there with loosing a family member.

So Mudd, thus morning I am praying for you.

I appreciate each and every one of you folks here at Tradgang.

I am blessed more than I have a right to be and won't complain about getting old as not everyone has that privilege.

One of the most profound experiences in my life happened recently when I was blessed to join my fellow veterans on a Mid-Missouri Honor flight to Washington DC for a tour of all of the memorials.

The longest walk of my life was from the bus to the "Wall". It was a life changer once I made it there.

Thanks again for the love!

God bless,Mudd

War is dirty business.  I'm of that era but never served in SE Asia... but the host of my age group and friends who did and the vagaries they now battle is intense.

I'm glad you got to see the Memorial, Mudd. I have a artist's rendition I cannot hang in my home. It depicts a middle aged man in a 3 piece suit, head bowed with his hands on names of fallen comrades.  In shadow relief are several young soldiers on the "other side" of the wall, touching his hand....those who did not make it home to endure the trials of aging.

I sit here eyes welled up just typing of that picture.. Most powerful visual I've ever seen of Nam "stuff"...

Prayers for you Mudd and a praise that you got to visit as you did.

I've been wondering about Mudd too .
I'm glad to see his post here today .
Over the past few years I've posted things and would wonder what Mudd would have to say .
It's usually very inspirational .    :wavey:    :campfire:    :archer:

I just googled for the picture of viet nam memorial vet looking back. The picture of the suited middle-age survivor with those who didn't make it touching hands popped right up.

Very profound.  Here's the link
