"Holy Smoke"
« on: September 07, 2016, 01:05:00 PM »
I recently picked up a used tall tines longbow off the classifieds named "holy smoke". I thought it would be interesting to know a little background information. Like who had the bow built. Where it has been, and what type of mojo it might have.

I would like to know the bows history, any information would be appreciated

Thanks
Jeff

Well, looking at the limb veneers, I might could guess where the name came from.  Interested to hear what you find out.

I purchased it here in the Classifieds, ran a few arrows through it and sold it to PastorSteve a year or so ago.

Nice bow, very smooth

I bought it from D.Key on here, keep it a while but did not hunt with it.I then sold it back to D.Key.I am thinking Doug had bought it from PastorSteve before selling it to me.Sounds like it has made the rounds here on the Gang.

The bow shot great and I loved the grip, but I have 3 Schafer Silvertip longbows that I liked more.

Holy Smoke!  The shelf is on the wrong side, no wonder it has made the rounds.   :biglaugh:

It's looking like the bow hasn't been hunted with. Maybe I can get it a little bloody this fall.

I originally ordered this bow.  Fantastic bow, used it to win a 3D shoot. Never made it out hunting.

Went down the road because I prefer a longbow style grip and am into Sarrel's Blueridge's and selfbows.

I occasionally pull out the Super Kodiaks but much prefer my longbows.

I bought it from Pastor Steve and subsequently sold it to you (I think).  If you ever wish to sell it I will buy it back (assuming my bow funds are available like they are now; hint, hint).  I only had it for a very short time and kicked myself for selling it.

Best of luck. If you miss one with it, then it is the bad Mojo I warned you about.

Correct.  I sold it to Glen. If you ever decide to sell it, please let me know. I'd love to have it back.

Well she finally drew blood. I was fortunate enough to take a nice young doe yesterday evening.

Congrats.  She must have better mojo than I thought.  Great shot.
