Nice evening to be in stand, about 4:30 a little buck comes along and I watch him. He acts like he smells something is up but doesn't spook. After a bit he goes back the way he came, then when out of sight, he blows just a little.
Not knowing what is up, I stand up and about 30 seconds later see something coming behind some pinoak branches. Alright, a yote!! No, a cat!!
He comes down the trail and when he goes behind a big pinoak, I draw. When he clears, I lip squeak , he stops, I shoot.
He instantly jumps straight toward my stand, not sure how high, but he was getting bigger fast! Hits the gound and streaks away, going under a group of pinoaks out in the field. Never comes out.
I sit for a bit and decide the bloody arrow on the trail is not gonna be any good for waiting on a deer, so I get down and go look. He is right there. the power of a sharp broadhead never ceases to amaze!!
