SBD strings
« on: September 13, 2016, 09:07:00 PM »
I recently ordered a string from Pierre at SBD. I had a terrible time deciding what string length I needed (measured a B-50 string and didn't realize just how stretchy that material was). Pierre was really patient and was more than willing to help me with my ignorance. I finally got the right numbers to him and got my string. Couldn't be more pleased. It's a 10 strand because it's for a 60# bow. Made the bow quieter that the factory ff string and although I don't have a crono so therefore no numbers I believe it did put a bit more zip on the arrow. Anyway just wanted to let everyone know about my great experience with Pierre. Will be ordering another string any day now for another bow

I have shot a few of Pierre's strings.  He definitely knows what he is doing!

I've probably bought close to 60 strings from Pierre over the years, nothing but first class all the way.

Bit of a happy accident, ordered a string too short for the intended bow. Put the string on a Kodiak 59er, went from the stock string "thonk", to having to pay attention to hear it!
Was pretty impressed with the difference, ordered up another of Pierre,s strings to see what it could do for a long bow.

I'm probably around that number or more myself. A few from Pierre and the rest from Tim at Braveheart. Without exception all my bows wear Pierre's strings.

I really liker Pierre's SBD strings.

I recently ordered a 10-strand SBD for my son to use on his Bear TD. I was surprised that the 10-strand was noticeably quieter than the 6-strand SBD strings to my ear (maybe it is the tone). And there seemed to be no sacrifice in arrow speed. Up until now I had been a 6-strand guy, but I may be doing a switch to the SBD 10-strand. It is the quietest string I have ever not heard -- not even a thump -- just amazing.

Made a noticeable difference on my glass Centaur/Selway. Almost silent. Smooth feel. That was a 10 strand. Previous string was a very well made Rhino.

Will try one soon on my Thunderstick Mag - will probably go with the 8 strand.

Add wool puffs, and it's as quiet as can be.

Love the 6 strand SBD string on my 47# longbow. Will be looking to replace mine with another after this season.

Smokin joe, interesting...may have to consider trying that!

The only strings I've shot for years. I don't think anybody's mentioned it, but if you're as anal about nock fit as I am (meaning I use the same aftermarket nocks across shaft brands) be sure to specify it and Pierre will make it perfect with the ideal combo of serving diameter single or double served as required.
