Dan, we still need to get that cup of coffee, got to chasing trophy bluecats and forgot about it. Good luck if you get out!

Paul, same hear bud might have to start wearing hip waders to check my cams, lol. Haven't been able to hunt this guy all week because of the wind and watching from a distance seen him by my stand three times. Should be good tomorrow though!

Out in the daylight! Any updates Michael???

Tracy, don't be shooting my deer! That's Ole' Moose and I've been hand feeding him all summer!

Yup Tracy. . . though if I had a buck like that figured out I may not have much time for coffee!     :bigsmyl:

Go get him. . . we'll connect soon.

...I ended up seeing 4 does tonight but they were right across the fence on private land at about 25-30 yards so no shot. Glad to see some deer though.

Well looks like in in the K.S.Trapper area as I live in Douglass and hunt in Cowley county so Hope everyone has a good season. Been a bunch of nice bucks crossing our place hoping for cooler weather. Paul we've had around 14" down here.
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

That's a lot of rain Joe. Glad to hear that you are seeing deer.
My county's deer population still hasn't recovered from that EHD that went through a few years back. Nobody is seeing nothing from folks that I've talked to. It seems that east of 75 and north of 70 was the area hit hardest.

The whole eastern side of KS suffered through the blue tounge out break. If you read the reviews and reports from the Fish and game they said Douglas and Franklin Co. We're the worst but I don't believe it. Everyone I talked to through out the state was finding dead deer in numbers.

It's not over yet, it's always been here and deer are still dying and deer are still being found that died. I have seen several in person mostly large bucks but I've also seen survivors, there hooves will look funny and some look like there shedding there hooves. Biologists list this as they lived through stage 2 of EHD.

It was a tuff few years, and we found (smelled) many dead bucks and does while running our cams and hunting. But I dare say which county got it worse. Just hope it dosent hit us again like that for a long, long time.

Just curious is there any relationship between man made feeding sites and blue tongue?  I have heard that the disease is spread thru contact with infected surfaces.  I do not know if that is true.

EHD or blue tounge is not new, it has always been around, I remember reading about it when I was young. It is passed from a midge in the water that they drink in contaminated pools of water. Drought years are the worst I know that and I'm not a biologist just what I have read. I'm sure somebody will correct me if I've posted anything wrong.
