String tracker in THICK cover??

Question for those that use string trackers when hunting. When in really thick stuff, the type where you may have to "thread a needle" with your arrow to make the shot. Do you worry about the string getting entangled before the arrow reaches your target? I ask this because the other evening I tied on my string tracker but after thinking about it for 30 minutes I cut the string. It was just so thick where I was hunting that I worried about the string snagging a limb and deflecting my arrow before it got to the deer. It would have sure made tracking the doe I shot an hour or so later a lot easier!!! I don't worry about it under normal conditions but this was different. Thoughts?

I have never used them but I would think it would. It don't take much to deflect an arrow.

I don't think it would maybe Bisch will come along on this but I've shot through mesh in a ground blind with no problems.

The string trails the arrow in a sort of spiral pattern, not a straight line, so yes in thick cover it could potentially cause a problem.
Tried them once and decided my tracking skills were sufficient to not need them. One less thing to go wrong.
