Havent got one with a stick and string (hoping to change that this winter) but have taken many with the old nylon66. They are somewhat creatures of habit and like other mentioned if you can find the fence row where they like to hang out or their favorite sagebrush pile you are in good shape.
I bumbled into many just walking through the prairie on hot days, the trick is to spot them before you get too close and push them out of cover.
You will be amazed how big they can get, I took a couple that dwarfed my 20 pound boston terrier when stretched out. Lots of meat there!
I like to braise the legs in a crockpot with onions and wine or chicken stock, then make stew. Very good eating if you cook it until it falls off the bone.
