Ron W you need to find a different place to hunt, year after year to rarely see any deer let alone get a shot. You might have to expand your boundaries some , or you might just like being outdoors with your bow. Which many times that what I do.

The state land I am talking about according to the DEC is up for deforresting which means every possible tree will be cut for acres & acres. So far they have taken the money trees. Saying it's necessary because of a beetle problem. Horse trails go through the property as well & there is opposition so we will see. Will hunt it at least one more time before rifle. Could be great in a few yrs or terrible like Ken said depending. Good luck to all.

Longrifle.......I'm going 45 miles one way to hunt in a fantastic spot in the bow only zone near Albany. Private land and deer are being seen...just not by me. I just never seem to hit it right. The place close to home is also private land I have seen deer there before and even missed one. It's just not coming together this year. I'm getting my knee replaced Dec 5th so I still have some time to make something happen.

Went for sit this afternoon.....went to a ground blind to change things up........no luck, but I did see to flags on the way out after legal shooting time. Going to change my luck next time and take a bow I have never hunted before, heck it can't hurt!!

Keep at it Ron, I give you a lot of credit for continuing to go out and enjoying the hunt. Good luck.

I was out this morning for a few hours. Had three turkeys fly down close. A minute later a coyote comes in after one of the birds. She flew up in a tree and the coyote left. Had a spike come in to ten yards for a while. Nice morning.

It has been really S-L-O-W over here in Zone 4, mostly windy and too warm, and a SUPER MOON tonight. Fair amount of rut sign pops up when it does chill down but no action during legal hours. Does showing white tarsal areas, no dark ones spotted yet. I could have flown to Seattle and back this weekend in the time I sat my stand(s). Nothing.

They are hunters Chuck, first rule for them was Me not hunting there.  However, I can hike the trails and observe.  Its an incredible property. I have been seeing deer daily. Last night I hear d a buck chasing a doe off the driveway.  This morning I was nearly run over by a  doe while walking the dogs.

Theres a nuisance bear there too.  They have not given me permission to deal with him yet.

Rainy today but the rest of the week is looking pretty nice before the guns start up.

Short sit this afternoon, I got cold so I took a walk. Checked a spot out for Saturday morning and jumped a deer in the process. Still have not seen a deer while actually hunting......I got back to the truck and saw the biggest doe I have seen in a long time standing in the drive way of the land owner. LOL.....she had a face like a mule and a sway back heavy body......neat to see her.

Went out today hoping to get a doe. I sat in the same stand that I took a buck out of earlier this month. The stand is about fifty yards away from an alfalfa field and about 7:30 I could see a 6pt escorting a 4pt out of his turf. Then about 20 minutes later I had another 6pt wonder through. At 8:30 I decided to check another wood lot about 200 yards away and that's when I kicked out 2 more bucks that were at least 2 1/2 years old. I backed out after that but will be back Saturday when my next buck tag becomes valid.
