Sorry guys & gals. I didn't mean to start a thread in a thread. Love them while you have them folks because you never know. My boy George is doing a little better & will come home tomorrow. Just not sure for how long. Thanks again to all.

Just got the call from the vets. Going to get Georgie to bring him home & say goodbye. 4:45 this afternoon we will put him to sleep. Losing my youngest boy. Tell your loved ones you love them. Hug them & hold them. Scratch your pets ears & give them an extra treat tonight for George. He was a wonderful boy & I love him dearly. Thanks to all for letting me share my grief we you.

Best of luck with the ghost blind mike, I hear they work great. Just make sure you have some cover behind you.

Went out Sunday evening and only saw a great horned owl fly by and some turkeys roosting. Good to be in the tree stand though.

next week I'll be in Vermont with my wife visiting friends but I'll get a 1/2 day in hunting pheasants with the shotgun so not a total loss.

Good luck everybody and be safe!

Crotch horn sorry to hear had to put down my first dog scrappy couple months ago he was in bad shape not easy to do at all.

Jeff thanks man good luck this season we'll keep in touch, ya trying to find spots with good cover behind and that will allow me to play the wind correctly. Going out tom near where I got my buck last year from the tree I'll post an update.

I have a sign on my garage which says "Heaven's the place where all the pets you've ever loved come to greet you". Man, I hope that's true!

Can we please stop talking about sick pets, they are not our kids or chrildren. And continue to keep this a hunting thread, thanks.

With that said went out with my 12 year old son last night, we are both on the ground and almost had a shot at a big doe at 7 yards, she stopped short and blew that was that.

Did a 3 hour sit this afternoon, private land in Montgomery Co. Saw 16 turkeys going in and then 4 more from my ground blind, one really nice tom at 16 yards.......guess who didn't buy a tag this year,    :banghead:   Then I came out a bit early and got caught in the middle of field  by 2 does. I watched them feed for 15 minutes until the bigger one got wise that I was not a bush. Nice to be out, a bit warm and the skeeters were out, but nice. We need a frost.........

I have watched a big 8 point 2 nights in a row, tonight he came out 100 yards away with a decent 6 point and does followed shortly after.  this is a 5 minute walk from my front door...

Had a little 4pt under my stand for 5 minutes but I've got too much Bullwinkle coming to be shooting small bucks.Looking for a fat doe to share with friend who can't hunt but those I've seen so far (4)aren't coming in close enough.

I think I finally get to go out this weekend.  Just bought a house and have been doing some renovations to it.  First time I can say I can hunt my own land.  Can't wait. Still need to do some major scouting but it will be good to get out. Clothes are washed and hanging.  Good luck o all

I haven't got out much due to a hand injury but I'm able to shoot a couple arrows a day.  I started hunting a new piece of state land and did manage to get a shot at a nice doe at 15 yards but shot over her back.  I also had a big doe 7 yards from me in a goldenrod field the same day but she got too close for  the little cover that I had and was never able to draw on her.  So far it's been an exciting season.  Hopefully a few more weeks of physical therapy and I'll be shooting more efficiently.  Good luck to all.

Sounds Exciting Mike. I hope your hand is back to normal soon.

Good Luck Ken and Matt (congrats on the new house and property).

It would have been perfect this morning.  Its not often we get a  south wind here and I have a  morning stand that would do well in s or sw wind.  Taking Grandma out for her birthday in 15.
