Finally Got it-Membrane Splicing
«

I have always loved the way spliced feathers looked, and have tried to make them without success for a couple of years. I finally got it down a couple of weeks ago when I switched to fletch tape on the membrane portion of the feather. Huge thanks to Mike Vine for his tutorial on this, it's what got me going. Here are some feathers I did recently....

Very nice, I'd like to learn how to do that myself.

Charlie, go down to the How To Forum, there is a tutorial there by Mike Vines on Membrane Splicing. It's all right there.

Those are looking great David, now we will just have to get some blood on them to make them look even better.

Those look really great! I like it that you have some with red barred fronts and yellow backs, and the others with yellow fronts and red barred backs. I would like to make up some arrows using one for the cock feather and the two opposite ones for hen feathers. Is that what you plan on doing? I've never seen that done on finished arrows before.

They will look great painted red Burton, I can't wait !
No Dave, I actually prefer to fletch my arrows with the same three fletch colors, so I actually have three different arrow configurations in my quiver right now.
