I have a new bow build in the works and thinking about trying something a little different just for the heck of it..

I have been shooting FMJ's and Axis for years but would not mind trying something else if highly recommended. I simply have not been paying any attention to what else is out there.

I am looking for something in the high FOC class..

bow specs are going to be a recurve 55#@27" FYI.

lookup Widowmaker arrows.  Even thinner than Axis, with outserts.  I just got a half dozen.  They bring arrow closer to center so easy to tune with stiff spine.  350s are 10+ gpi.

Widowmaker is an excellent shaft and currently using 350's, tough as nails, 350's are 10.4gpi. This is the lowest spine currently available but recently heard 400 spine may become available. If your loading up front weight probably 350's or 300's may be needed. I am shooting 350's 30.5" 200gr head with there outsert with a very close to centershot [email protected]. 19.5%foc. Same shaft combo with a less then center shot riser [email protected]. These are both high performance limb bows.

May also look at the black eagle x impact, a lighter gpi skinny shaft. The black eagle deep impact is also skinny and a little heavier.

I don't know your planned total weight, but any shaft that weighs 10 gpi is WAY too heavy for my likings to get any type of FOC.  If I wanted to build a micro diameter EFOC arrow, I would look no farther than Black Eagle X-impacts. Super tiny, light GPI, all the things needed to boost up the FOC and keep the weight at a manageable weight like I like.

Gold tip velocity shafts. Foot them with an inch of aluminum and your points. My current EFOC is pushing around 30%. Great price and sturdy with low gpi.

As Daniel indicated, Black Eagle has some offerings you should look at.  Also, Victory has similar sizes and GPI.  I am currently shooting a Victory VForce Hv that is right around 7.0 GPI and am getting 31.5% FOC.  Unfortunately that shaft has been discontinued.  Victory has other shafts that are similar (6-7 gpi) but in smaller diameter.  

I have heard good things about the Black Eagle X-impacts and will likely try them next.

I've used Easton Injexion Deep Six for the past three years.

However, broadhead and field point choices are much more restricted.

Bowwild, you can get AoroOutsert from firenock for those deep six and use regular broadheads.

I will agree with Daniel on starting with the lowest gpi shaft for the most foc but there are trade offs. They may be less durable, have not had the opportunity to try the x impact but will this winter.

The widowmakers I run are 19.5% foc and 560 grains. Not looking to hunt buff and prefer the flatter trajectory with 48# bow. Worked up a 650gr setup and did not like the looping trajectory at 25-30 yards.

I will add that the widowmakers are the quietest shooting arrow I have had and others who I have talked with also found this.

Take a look at Easton Aftermath's. I like these as much as my Axis arrows, probably even more because of there price.
GPI is good as well for obtaining a high FOC.
I shoot .400's st 31" with 250 upfront, from a 43lb A&H longbow.

After running two EFOC arrows thru Ohio whitetails this fall, not sure I'll ever go back.  Black EAgle X Impacts with 250 gr heads out of 53# recurve.  Went thru both deer like the proverbial hot knife through butter.  Both deer down in under 15 seconds !  I had been shooting FMJ's at the 650 grain mark with 200 gr heads previously; these EFOC arrows group tighter and penetrate better !

I just made up a dozen Victory RIP Xv 350 that are 6.4 gpi and used their stainless  Shok insert for 32% foc with 300 gn tips. Total arrow weight is at 560 without fletch.

I really like the Bearpaw Penthalon Slim lines. A variety of spines and good FOC when you stick the half-out inserts in them. A little spendy, but tough as nails. Kustom King has them.

Not sure what spine ur after or your budget but the victory vforce shafts are pretty cheap and fairly light I don't think they weigh too much more than GT ultralights. I have a 500 shaft to 30% FoC with a 300g point 3x4" fletch. 520 grains.

If you want to spend more on your shafting one of those small diameter, light GPI rigs like mentioned about would be awesome. I could get some crazy FoC with those shafts.
