Harvested my first deer of the year on 10/6/16. This has been by far my most successful year hunting so far as far as getting close goes. In 12 sits I've had 28 deer under 30 yards with many more sighted beyond that distance and had not loosed an arrow. Wind shifts, getting caught drawing, being selective for the first season ever: have all led to that. I've been spending about 50% of my time in my Ghillie on the ground and the other 50% in the trees.
It's been a hell of a start to the season. Last night it came together on a nice healthy doe with a quick efficient harvest using my trusty WF19 riser, black max limbs, black eagle x-impacts, and VPA Broadheads.
It's harvest season. Breathe the cool fall air into your lungs, walk amongst the wild, and participate in this crazy natural world as a predator. There is a long season ahead of us. Can't wait to see what else unfolds.
Good luck and Shoot straight everyone.
