Last night was my second time out of this young season......
I had a perfect wind for hunting the "Killin Tree" which had a history of producing not only does but nice bucks in the early season

This is the view from the stand.
Notice the Black Hole right along the fencline, I shot a nice buck in 06 that appeared through that hole and last night that's where my October Surprise came from.....

I seen a doe and fawn at about 10 to six out in the bean field to my right but they went away from me and as the night was coming to a close I was listening to a flock of turkeys flying up to roost about 50 yards behind me ( man they make a lot of noise)

At about 6:55 I glance to the "Hole" and there's somthing filling it :eek:

It's about 30 yards out so I grab my Binos and take a peek, initial thought, Nice Buck!
Second Thought, Man it's early in the season.......

He walks down the fencline towards me and makes it to 12 yards in no time, still facing me iv got the Binos still on him and I'm back and forth on if I'm guna shoot him or not. Then he turns broad side

So as he turned broadside I just couldn't take it, all the thoughts and plans for the year, different stand sites, anticipation for the end of October/1st of November........
The last thought through my head was "you'll won't this one back if you don't shoot"......

The string slip from my fingers and the arrow hit right where I was looking, arrow half way to the fletch and he wheels and runs back the way he came.

Wait, is the arrow too far back?
As he turned and ran it looked to be high back lungs....
Why didn't I get a pass through?
