New Selfbow Hunter strikes again
« on: October 16, 2016, 05:23:00 PM »
I recently help set a friend up with a osage selfbow I made in August, and a few surewood shafts tipped with zwickey's. Season opened yesterday in Alabama he sent me this picture today. Saying he's excited is an understatement.

Congrats. Osage selfbows and surewood shafts are a deadly combo

I think you just seriously changed your buddys life, soon your he will be setting up a special bow building area and calling you every weekend to split staves, finish whats finishing up in the heat box and help get all the shavings on off the floor..

Thanks for all the good comments, Chris Kimbrough is his name and he hunts hard and kills a lot of deer, get a lot of my turkey feathers from him. He was planning on hunting with an old recurve he got from me this year, I had him try a self bow I had recently made and everything turned out great. This is his first self bow, and he said that he got more shook up over that deer than some of his bigger bucks. Wouldn't surprise me to see him on here before too long, I've already referred him here to use our sponsors for his archery needs.
