Copenhagen, won't chew Skoal cause of the wintergreen scent, lol. Seriously though breath odors can be a problem but I try and pay more attention to the wind  and how  it affects stand choice not only on the day of the hunt but when choosing and setting stands in the offseason.
Now we're digging where the taters are.

I've given it all up, but I used to know a hunter that swore deer would come investigate the smell of Red Man.

Copenhagen straight. I shot my biggest buck while he was sniffing the apple skoal I threw on the ground. If they are close enough to smell my breath they are already in trouble.

Apple flavored extra or JDs blend loose leaf. Just as good as red man but half the price.

Usually chew some kind of mint gum. To an animal, We stink anyways so I'm not worried about my breath that much.
I chew it to occupy my mind and keep my mouth moist more than anything.
I figure mint is a naturally occurring odor so ???

If I have to worry about deer smelling my breath I might as well stay home.

Just hunt.

When I am sick with a sinusitis there is no doubt my breath is a problem.   i cant stand it myself, i avoid talking with people because its plain nasty.  usually mints will help keep me from coughing and help me tolerate my breathe.

I spit some gold river onto a does nose that was under my tree. All she did was wipe it off with her back hoof and kept feeding.

When I was younger, dad would bring sour apple gum. He told me that it would attract deer, so I remember sitting there and blowing the whole time to try and get as much scent out as possible.      :biglaugh:
Now I mainly eat sunflower seeds. I've had deer come up and eat the hulls after I spit them out. I also throw in the occasional snickers bar for variety.

An apple.  It's on an apple and chew slowly or
Kinda suck on it. It's natural breath deodorizer as told to me by a dentist. My dad has been doing it since then.

Had a sour apple blow pop on the way to my stand the other night and was gonna spit the gum out before I got to my stand but forgot. Had deer all around me, even down wind, and was never busted! Don't think it really matters as long as you play the wind but if you believe it will help you then try it. It's all about having confidence in what you're doing.
