What are you layering?

I love my asbell wool zip up ESB, hands down. But wind cuts right through and I'm a skinny guy who doesn't like to be cold. I'm ordering a larger asbell zip up to wear as an eternal layer (blends in so well want it as my outer layer)....
So how are you guys layering? What are you wearing to stay warm sitting in the woods? Tops and bottoms.

Im wearing many layers up here in Canada. I go with a merino base. Then another smaller polyester mid layer. A wool sweater. A fleece sweater over top of that and a Boreal mountain wool anorak as my outer layer haha!

For bottoms its just wool longjohns thick track pants and some thick "blizzard or if" camo pants I got at a second hand army surplus store

And if it's real cold I put the onesie wool longjohns underneath everything. Im surprisingly mobile and Very quiet with this system.

For when it is COLD - 0 to 25 - start with silk - next silk/wool blend - next merino wool - Those 3 layers of underlayers. I have some old filson pants that wind will never get through. KOM if wind is not an issue. Various wool shirts and vest for up top - Wool scarf - wool gloves inside leather sheaths - hand muff around waist - Wool hat.
In the worst case mornings I drop heat tabs on each toe area and occasionally use Large Heat Patches - one on my kidneys lower back and one right on top of my heart.

Kyle how cold are you talking?

I like my first lite merino wool. I have several tops and several vests and a couple jackets. I just put on how ever many layers the temps dictate.

I'm a fellow skinny guy who hates being cold too.  As a result, I splurged and outfitted myself stem-to-stern in Kuiu, with the outer layer being the DCS Guide jacket, and the inners being wool and/or a compressible, insulated jacket they used to offer.  I was at 10,000 feet in the Sierras a couple of months ago and never got cold...not even close.  It's pricey, but it's some of the best money I've ever spent.  

I also have some Cabela's stuff that is called "Windstopper" and it works as advertised.  I wear one on cold mornings when bass fishing...and 70mph in a boat on a cold morning will certainly test the "Windstopper" claim.  The stuff works.

If you're looking for something windproof in plaid ala Asbell, I'm not aware of anything.
