Has anybody used Steiner 2112 8x 22mm Champ Binocular? I am thinking about getting a pair for my grandson.

I have had a set of Steiners for 30 +years. For use back east they will be adequate. I do not know what model I have, but they are fine. Out west here I need a little more clarity at distances, so I have other brands as well.

I almost bought Stiener Predators a number of years ago. While at Cabelas, about to buy them, the desk hand ask if id ever compared them with Leupold Wind River compacts of the same magnification. For reasons unknown to me, I agreed to test and compare them. The Leupold Wind Rivers were much more clear and sharp, enough I was shocked. I walked out of that store with a new set of Wind Rivers. Some 20 years later, Im still enjoying the benifits of that buy with no regrets.

Never used the 8X22, but love my Stiener 8X30's. Had them for a long time now.
