Just got my new string tracker from Chad Orde of Drifter Traditional Archery .
I'm very impressed , the quality is superb and the design is very simple .
Well done Chad .

Well, the tracker I got from him worked perfectly, and looks great, but the buck was spine shot so not much of a tracking job!

I have one as well. Beautiful and works great

Very fine craftsmanship. Mine is superbly built. I bought it for spring turkeys but never got to try it out this year. Turkey season is about 4 months away though. Looking forward to following the string to a fine spring gobbler this year.

Chad does great work and is super easy to deal with. I recovered a huge doe earlier in the year that didn't bleed "out". I was in  a new area and didn't realize just how tangled it was. Thankfully, the string tracker worked beautifully.

Thanks for the compliments guys, nothing better hearing of recovered game that would have went to the yotes. Nothing is wasted in nature. But I do like a full freezer.

I have all three models that Chad makes.  I have used them on hogs, bear and deer this season.  Awesome design.

Well I'm picking up my new Cardiac Arrest longbow from Flatline Bows tomorrow and I'm going to put that tracker on it and hopefully get out hunting before dark .
New bow , new string tracker , it don't get any better than that .    :goldtooth:

For you guys using the string trackers what # string do you recommend using? I see that Chad has 17# and 30#

Pine

I've got 30# and I've heard it works better than the 17# .
Some reviews say the 17# seems to snag on brush more .
But that's only what I have read .

As far as orders go it's been 50/50 really like how the 30# comes off the spool but also like the 17# for its line capacity.

I can understand how in some hunting situations that a tracker would be a bonus, like hunting in bog or swamp areas.  A word of caution.  Last year a kid had one rigged up. He left his tree stand a bit early to try to stalk a deer before shooting hours expired.  His stalk failed, packed up his stuff including his bow on his back and headed the mile back to his car. On the way he felt a tug, His tracker ran out of string.  He snagged it on something way back when he packed his stuff together.

I had the #17 break on me this year. Broke about 15 feet from the arrow (after it fell out from the exit hole. Found the double line again after about 30-40 yards and went right to the buck. Have mine loaded with #30 now.

When Not using the tracker , put a cork in the hole so you don't lose your string .

I tuck the tag end under the shock cord works good too.
