Surewood lost one of it's Partners.
« on: December 10, 2016, 03:24:00 PM »
This morning we lost one of Surewoods original partners, Rourke Brown to a three fight with cancer.  He died at home surrounded by family.  Rourke was there ten years ago when Surewood was started.  His son Carson was being groomed to take over January first of this coming year.  Keep the Brown family in your thoughts and prayers.

For those who didn't know Rourke, we lost a good man today. A great husband and father (and Grandpa). Awesome outdoorsman and hunter and one hell of a good fisherman. It was my good fortune to call him my friend. After his diagnosis three years ago, Rourke and I traveled to Kodiak Alaska and fished for Salmon. Awesome trip with my good friend and plenty of fish were brought home. We also got to hunt together before he was just unable to go anymore. It is a sad day when you lose one of your "best good friends", but I have some wonderful good memories that will stay with me forever. Forgot to mention what a good partner and shaft maker Rourke was also, but he passed his good genes on to his son Carson, and we will continue on. RIP in peace my friend!

Steve & Bob...sorry to hear this news. Stopped in and talked to Rourke's son Chase a couple weeks ago, and he said it was just a matter of time.

May your arrows always fly true Rourke...RIP

Such a loss. Great guy. I will miss his big ol' smile. He was a strong "can do" sort of guy. Glad you were able to share that last trip with him Bob. Surewood Shafts is in good hands with you and Steve and Carson. Praying for family and friends.
