Luckily I've never felt that urge or addiction, but I do love building bows.    :goldtooth:

How many do I need?  One!!  How many do I have?  Way more than 1!!!

Is it one or more if it's the same bow with multiple limb draw weights and both left-handed and right-handed risers?

.For myself, I have one bow that fills all of my needs.  The problem is that I have hundreds of arrows and arrow shafts that need a different bow than that one.

Was living a personal dream hunt on the other side of the world. Had a limb fracture while taking a few practice shots just minutes before heading out on the first pursuit.

Thoroughly thrilled that I had brought a matching backup bow. A dream was permitted to unfold and come to fruition.

Well I just got rid of my training wheels about a year ago and only got into archery about 2 years ago. I have 3, building one and have a riser ready to be warfed. And I'm pretty sure all my money is going to archery and whitewater from now on so I'll let you know in a few years.

But to be honest I do need a few more already.

Few years ago black dog went out of business and I bought a ton of stuff and a new bow from tom and Ryan. I promised my wife that was my last bow for 2 years and somehow I've ended up with another 7 lol. But  Since I'm a collector I couldn't pass them up being older bears. It's an obsession and a passion. But it's all good.

I think I'll just keep going at the rate I am. My herd grows by about 2 bows per year, so if I keep that up for 60 years or so....let's just say I'm going to need to build a lot of bow racks!

I have the perfect bow for me a Stalker Wolverine. I have 6 others that I don't shoot anymore. I will be getting another Wolverine as a back-up because I do not want to ever go a day without one.
What gives me wings? Flying with my arrows over and over again. And never giving up...For giving up means not believing...

Every time I review this thread, I come up with reasons to have more bows, never a reason to cut back.

It's a good thing that bows ain't like women, the first one would kill us in our sleep before we got the third one.  If you get a new puppy, the wife will like that a lot more than your new bow.   I tried to get my wife a new bow, "What's wrong with the bow I have?"  Every time I get a new bow, "What's wrong with the BOWS you have?"

I collect selfbows, primarily. For me a well made selfbow out of a beautiful wood is irresistible. Most of my collection is from John Strunk, but I also have bows from Dean Torges, bless him, JD Jones, Gerald Welch, Gordon (if you know selfbows you know who that is) and the list goes on from there.

I have several glass bows too from some of the guru level bowyers who've been making bows for 30 years or more. Tom Parsons and Jerry Brumm are at the top of that list.

Bow collecting is a passion for me. I don't really collect anymore. I'm pretty happy with my collection as it is, but every now and then I'll see a yew or osage or vine maple selfbow on a forum that celebrates selfbows and I start to pine, and plot.

Nate, don't you miss that store? Guess I didn't realize just how lucky we were.

I'm turning 76 in another few weeks and have finally learned to quit lying to myself. I only need one bow.

My old boss used to tell me never confuse needs and wants. Now let's talk about wants   :)
