I've never been a fan of short bows but the VPA Vapor riser(13") with medium Sebastion Flute carbon foam limbs - which makes a 56" bow - changed that opinion.  I love that combination! Shoots as good or better than any of the many longer bows I've tried over the years.

You could go with the short limbs and get a 54" bow…Not sure if there are any limbs that will get you anything shorter with that riser…VPA could probably help you with info on that and they are a sponsor….

Geez, I have a 60" Asyrian ordered from Javaman and I thought that was short.
Terry, what is the certain application that needs a short bow?

Just the other day I shot my daughter's 35lb Kodiak magnum. They really are nice bows.

You may want to look at a Lone Wolf Banchee. It's a '50's style recurve at 52". Very smooth shooter!!

As I recall, it was a 1965 first year made Bear Magnum 48" @ 48# that I acquired a few years back, so that would make it over 40 years old, I shot the snot out of that bow, very accurate from close up, and out to 20 yards and you know what, it never blew up !

  • Gordy Morey 2pc. 68" R/D 55# @ 28"
  • Hoyt Pro Medalist, 70" 42# @ 28" (1963)
  • Bear Tamerlane 66" 30# @ 28" (1966)- for my better half
  • Bear Kodiak 60" 47# @ 28"(1965)

Kiko Tovar used to make a killer short recurve, Terry...and I bet if you looked on the Footed Shaft, or perhaps put a classified in PBS you could probably find one.

I think I remember them being 44 inches AMO

Wild Horse Creek bows by Mike Dunnaway.  Love my Mariah.  Smooth and zero stack to my 29.5in draw.

3 part....1-recovery bow thick cover here in east...2-short shot trail crossings and mergers....3-One lane shot from low tree stand in travel corridor funnel.

Again....thick cover ambush and recovery.
