Traditional Archery shops in your local area
« on: December 31, 2016, 01:26:00 PM »
As 2016 comes to an end it got me to thinking how blessed I am to live in central Oklahoma.

We have a huge indoor range locally that has an all traditional archery store inside, no compound bows or gadgets.  Plus up in the Tulsa area the Nocking Point has their traveling trailer.

There several shops that sell to the compound crowd locally, but only one in this area that is devoted to traditional shooters.

This got me to wondering how many other shops are there left around the country devoted to (or mostly anyway) to traditional shooters?

I'm not looking for them to get a plug here on TG but rather how many shops are there out there that cater to us trad guys?

Happy New Year everyone!

Had a wonderful one , Black Dog Outfitters , just five miles from me here in Michigan , but they went out of business two years ago .

It's too sad there are not more shops out there that cater to us.  Sorry for you guys that don't have a local shop to drop into.

Like I said I am blessed.  The local shop here has an 8,000 sf indoor range where any type bow can be shot in but the archery shop is all traditional.  It is very cool to have like minded shop owners to do business with!

Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear here in Colorado.

I'm nearly 3 hours away but I consider that 'local'.

It's worth the drive.

Pony Express in Coeur d alene has a small tradition shop. Other than that it's all wheel bows round here.

There is one in Fayetteville, AR run by Dick Palmer.  Last time I was there, he told me I was his 4th customer of the week. Trad shops just don't seem to make it.

Nothing near me in Wenatchee WA.  Thankfully there is a large national chain near that has some supplies.  Tabs,  gloves,  glue on points and Zwickeys,  60" and 62" strings.  They had a Montana longbow there for awhile.

When I started shooting back in the early 70's, they all did. Now, none that I am aware of.
